DESCRIPTION:
Best practices will enable you to be proactive in your real estate transactions to prevent future problems with the law, ethics, clients, or the public. Take this course and learn ways to follow policies and procedures that ensure you are following the rules and regulations of the Real Estate Commission, while also learning to improve relationships with customers, clients and the public.

The information in this course is based on best practices cited by the Real Estate Commission from audits, articles in professional trade magazines, and the experiences of real estate agents and brokers.

OBJECTIVES:
After taking this class students will be able to:
• List the best practices for writing contracts.
• Understand how to comply with license laws regarding Binder Deposits.
• Name policies and procedures that create a more transparent relationship with the public.
• List activities that will help reduce liability and risk.
• Identify best practices in communications that lead to a reduction in consumer complaints.
• Identify practices to help Brokers supervise their agents.
• List resources available to licensees to further their education
• List two procedures to eliminate risk when showing property
• Identify RESPA violations

ATTENDANCE:
1.FREC requires licensed individuals to attend 90% of the instructional class time. Continuing education credit will only be provided to those participants that are in attendance for the entire session. Time spent troubleshooting your computer, if necessary, is NOT considered as being in attendance for the session.
2.Attendance is recorded by each person’s unique email address. That means two people cannot share one email address

5. Staff will be logged on to the event as early as 12:30 PM (EST) – you are more than welcome to join early. This will provide time for assistance should you have any difficulties.

9. Per Florida Statute 455.2178 all course provider have 30 days, from the completion of this course, to report CE Credits to DBPR. Florida Realtors strives to process and report classes within 7 business days but may take a bit longer. We will email you a course completion letter once credits have been reported to DBPR (allow 24-48 hours thereafter to be able to view them on your DBPR profile at www.myfloridalicense.com).

Matthew Goodwin
Matt has been working in the real estate industry in Florida since 2015. His experience includes running a successful law practice with multiple offices across the state, owning/operating a title company, buying and selling real estate for personal and professional use, assisting investors in the wholesaling of real estate for fix and flip transactions, structuring seller financing, and more. The focus at Matt’s law firm is on real estate, but the additional services his firm provides includes estate planning and probate administration. Matt’s offices handle an average of more than 50 real estate transactions every month. He sees firsthand where many local realtors often miss the mark when it comes to following the rules. He is active with the Naples Area Board of Realtors as a long standing member (going on his 8th year in 2023) on the legal resources committee, which is charged with educating the local membership and keeping brokers out of trouble and compliant with the laws.
