Speaker:  Katy McGinnis, Esq. 

Katy McGinnis is the Director of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation's Division of Real Estate.  She is a native Floridian who earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Trinity College and her Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law.

McGinnis is a former Belle Isle City Commissioner, District 2, who was backed by the Orlando Regional Realtor Association based on qualifications and understanding of property issues.  She is a member of the Florida Bar's Professionalism Panel; the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA); the OCBA Professional Panel; Tiger Bay Club; the League of Women Voters of Orange County; the Pine Castle Historical Society; and the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers.

McGinnis gained criminal trial experience as an Assistant Public Defender.  She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator and has conducted over 1,500 mediations.
