About the Course:

This course provides real estate professionals with a practical understanding of credit scoring and the factors that can affect a consumer’s credit profile. Participants will become familiar with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and explore the similarities and differences among the three major credit reporting agencies.

The course will also cover how to read and understand a credit report, identify potential errors, and understand the appropriate steps for addressing inaccurate information. Participants will examine common credit myths and gain a better understanding of how different types of debt and account activity may affect credit scores.

 

Learning Objectives:

After taking this class, participants will be able to:
 

• Understand the purpose and basic requirements of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.
• Identify similarities and differences among the three major credit reporting agencies.
• Understand what information may be included or excluded from a free credit report.
• Read and interpret the basic components of a credit report.
• Identify potential errors on a credit report and understand the appropriate steps for disputing inaccurate information.
• Recognize common credit myths and misconceptions that may affect agents and borrowers.
• Understand how different types of debt and account activity can affect credit scores.

ORRA Camera-On Policy — Required for Credit:

ORRA requires all participants in a virtual class, including auditors, to have their cameras on at all times, ensuring they are visible and fully engaged. Noncompliance with ORRA’s camera-on policy will result in removal from the class and forfeiture of credit.

 

Course Participation & Requirements:

Participants are expected to follow all applicable ORRA policies, Professional Development policies, course requirements, and instructor directions. ORRA reserves the right to remove any participant who does not comply with applicable ORRA policies or course requirements.
 

ORRA follows all FREC attendance rules.

CANCELLATION/NO-SHOW POLICY

All courses cancelled more than 48 hours prior to the course date will receive a refund. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will receive a credit toward another course scheduled during the same year.

It is the responsibility of the member to notify ORRA of any educational credit being used.

“No Shows” forfeit the registration fee.
