Or maybe you’ve dealt with a short-term rental where a tenant brings their animal on vacation despite a no-pet policy? If you haven’t, chances are you will! Take this course and learn how to handle situations like this or similar, appropriately and keep yourself out of trouble. Objectives: After taking his class students will be able to: • Identify what classifies a service dog under the American with Disabilities Act. • Explain when Emotional Support Animals are and are not protected by various laws. • Understand how Officer K-9’s are classified and how to treat them in a rental situation. • Understand the requirements for training a service dog. • Identify the questions allowed to ask someone who has a service-dog to verify the allowance of the dog. • Understand when a service dog may be excluded from ADA. • Explain how service dogs are classified under the Fair Housing Act. • Explain how an Emotional Support Animal would be allowed under the Fair Housing Act. • Know the questions allowed to be asked under the Fair Housing Act and Section 504. • Understand what Florida Statutes says regarding service animals. Live Streaming Live Streaming Jane Bolin Jane has been working in the real estate industry in Florida since 2006. She is a licensed attorney and previously held a Community Association Manager license. She is the founder of Foundation Property Services, Peyton Bolin, PL law firm and Giannell Title. She is experienced in all aspects of real estate law from transactions to litigation. Her practice area is common interest communities including homeowners’ association, cooperative, and condominium representation. Jane has taught thousands of board members, managers, and unit owners since2008. She is authorized to teach board member certification in the state of Florida and has created over 20 original accredited courses. Jane has been an adjunct faculty for Nova Southeastern University as a professor of Florida real estate. She has also taught law practice management for St. Thomas University School of Law. Jane is the author of Mastering the Business of Your Association © and continues to teach regularly throughout the state. From 2018-2022 Jane served as the City Commissioner, Vice Mayor and Mayor for the City of Oakland Park, Florida. She is heavily involved in the community and has served on numerous non-profit boards including Community Foundation of Broward, Girl Choir of South Florida, The Pride Center and the Florida Rugby Union. Jane is an international speaker and facilitator. You will find her scuba diving if she is not in front of the room.
