DescriptionLocationInstructorsCancelation Policy Code of Ethics - 6th Cycle Biennial Mandatory NAR Course for REALTORS® ORRA Member Pricing: $10 Non-Member Pricing: $25 Instructor: Gonzalo Mejia *This class fulfills the 3 Hours of Business Ethics license requirement* Every REALTOR® must complete the NAR Mandatory REALTOR® Code of Ethics Training once within each cycle. The 6th Cycle will run between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020. REALTORS® who do not meet the requirement will have their REALTOR® status suspended on January 1, 2021. This is a nationwide requirement for all REALTORS®. Code of Ethics training was established by NAR in order to: • Create an awareness and appreciation for the role the code can and should play in REALTORS® professional lives. • Enhance professionalism and competency • Encourage REALTORS® to view their code of ethics as a living, viable guide in their daily dealings with clients, customers, and the public. ATTENDANCE POLICY 1. CE credit will not be awarded if arrival and check-in are not complete by 9:15 a.m. No exceptions. Please allow adequate commute time. 2. Check in with ORRA staff and sign morning and afternoon attendance sheets. 3. FREC requires a licensee attend 90% of each of the classroom hours. Physical attendance is required for the duration of class. 4. Electronic note-taking is permitted on silent devices, only. Cell phone use is permitted during designated breaks. Mejia moved to the United States in 2001 and started his real estate career in 2004 as a Sales Associate in Pensacola, FL. He obtained his Broker License in 2006. After moving to Jacksonville, FL in 2009 he joined Watson Realty Corp. He is the broker/manager of their San Marco office. Mejia also obtained his Real Estate Instructor License in 2013. He holds the following designations ABR, CIPS, CRS, GRI, TRC, and AHWD. During his real estate areer Gonzalo, has successfully completed translations with customers from several Latin American countries, Europe and Asia. He enjoys real estate and sharing his experiences with fellow Realtors. He also believes that having fun makes the process more enjoyable for everybody. Gonzalo has 20 years of experience as an instructor. Topics he has taught include real estate, math and physics, Spanish as a second language, technology and fitness. He has been a guest speaker at different REALTOR events to present about cultural diversity. Mejia also volunteers at the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors teaching Ethics, Fair Housing and Anti-trust at the monthly new member orientation.
