What to do When the FREC Man Cometh

Location: In-person at the Orlando Regional Realtor Association (ORRA).

Be prepared for routine office audits. Attend this very informative 3 hour class and learn how to “stay out of FREC jail” and be ready when the FREC man comes knocking.
  • What documents should be retained in transaction files;
  • Be able to “Follow the Money” throughout the transaction;
  • Review of FREC rules on escrow deposits (CH. 61J2-14 F.A.C.);
  • Monthly reconciliation of escrow accounts;
  • Resolution of deposit disputes;
  • The FREC office audit;
  • The complaint process.
Objectives: After taking this class students will be able to:

- Describe the documents that should be in a closed transaction file;
- Identify what a deposit is and what depositories area allowed to hold escrowed funds;
- Distinguish between what immediate means for sales associates and brokers regarding turning over/depositing escrow funds;
- Describe the notice requirements under 61J2-10.032;
- State how the EDO request process works;
- Describe the office inspection/escrow audit process;
- Explain the complaint process;
- Describe the Election of Rights and explain the licensee’s options in the EOR;
- Quote some of the violations licensees are frequently charged with under Ch. 455 F.S. and Ch. 475 F.S.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
1. FREC requires that licensees attend 90% of instructional class time. Physical presence is required.
2. CE credit will not be awarded to students who miss more than 15 minutes of instructional time. Please allow adequate commute time. No exceptions.
3. All students MUST sign-in and out to receive CE credit.
4. Electronic note-taking is permitted on silent devices, only. Cell phone use is permitted during designated breaks.
