This is the course for a Realtor® that wants or needs to know enough about Property Management to get by - whether to manage a property or two now, or as an introduction to property management if they are considering possible investment down the road. You will walk through the reasons you are needed, what you need to do, and what to expect from a legal standpoint. This course is designed to provide homebuyers with a knowledgeable practitioner, familiar with both the practice and the laws behind landlord/tenant relationships. 

This course will provide you with:
• Reasons why a professional property manager is needed
• The most common property management assignments and the challenges that come with
• Lists of protected classes under the Fair Housing Laws
• The fiduciary duties of a property manager
• Methods for attracting tenants to management properties
• And much more!

Omar Capellan

Omar Capellan owns and operates a real estate brokerage firm in Cape Canaveral, FL. He is a certified FEMA inspector, commercial Real Estate investor, Real Estate Broker and holds both GRI and CIPS designations.

Omar was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1993 to attend college. He began a second career as a real estate investor in the residential area in 2000. In 2005, he obtained his real estate license. In 2008, Omar transitioned to full-time property management, and in 2012 he became a licensed broker.

In 2012, Omar was appointed Chairman of the Business and Economic Development board for the City of Cape Canaveral. In 2013, he was reappointed to serve for 3-years.

He engineers creative transactions and financing options for his clients. Due to his dynamism, he keeps students engaged and the student’s remarks and evaluations are high.

Omar’s interests include investments, surfing, golfing and technology.
